This is Li Thy Song and her son. She is a widow raising her 4 young children alone. Her husband was tortured to death for his service to the Lord Jesus Christ. I can’t stop thinking about her.
Last Sunday was International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. I first saw Li’s picture then. Today, I am still so heartbroken for her and her children. Yet she still bravely serves Jesus and is making plans to go back to the same village where her husband was arrested.
On Monday my children and I prayed for Susan in Uganda whose father beat her and locked her in a room for six months. She survived only because her brother bravely sneaked food and water to her. Why would a father beat his daughter and leave her to die like that? For her faith in the Lord Jesus.
There are countless others suffering around the world. In fact most of the Christians in the world live in fear of persecution. We can make a difference by praying for them.
I commit to pray is a ministry of The Voice of the Martyrs that I would like each one of you to be aware of. Please visit their website and sign up for daily email updates and prayer requests. You can pray for suffering brothers and sisters by name.
“For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.” Philippians 4:19
